15th 5-Year Plan charts a New Course, Hong Kong forges a New Chapter
The Federation of Hong Kong Garment Manufacturers held its 32nd Inauguration Ceremony and Gala Dinner on 25 June 2026. Representatives from the Textiles and Garment sub-sector of the Election Committee were invited to attend, witnessing the inauguration of the new leadership team, engaging with industry peers and guests from various sectors, and looking ahead to the industry’s future development.
The event, themed “Charting a New Course under the National 15th Five-Year Plan and Opening a New Chapter for Hong Kong,” brought together nearly 300 guests from the government, central government agencies in Hong Kong, the Legislative Council, industry associations, and relevant professional bodies. Attendees included Mr. Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the HKSAR Government; Mr. Aaron Liu, Director-General of Trade and Industry; Mr. Zhou Qiang, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Affairs and Head of the Trade Division of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; and the Hon. Sunny Tan, Legislative Council Member (Textiles and Garment). Representatives from the Customs and Excise Department, the Chief Executive’s Policy Unit, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, Our Hong Kong Foundation, and the Clothing Industry Training Authority were also present.
During the ceremony, appointment certificates were presented to the new President, Vice-Presidents, and Council Members. The event also witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understanding with the Youth College of the Vocational Training Council and the Guangdong Garment and Apparel Industry Association, aiming to further advance talent development and regional industry collaboration. Additionally, the program featured a Chaoshan Yingge dance performance and a fashion show from the VTC students, blending traditional culture with innovative design to add vibrancy and unique flair to the occasion.
