On 14 July, the Chairman participated in the “Textile and Garment Industry Plan for Creating New Advantages for Hong Kong,” proposed by Hong Kong’s textile and garment sector.
In response to the golden opportunities presented by the national “15th Five-Year Plan,” the industry has put forward six policy recommendations to contribute to the SAR Government’s “five-year plan,” proactively aligning with the “15th Five-Year Plan” and helping to build a strong fashion nation and a strong brand nation.
The report was researched by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s Fung Supply Chain Institute, with the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) serving as the guiding unit, and received support from multiple industry organizations.
Key recommendations include: upgrading the Clothing Industry Training Authority to serve as the industry’s coordinating and implementing body and promoting the “CTC+” procurement center model, introducing multinational enterprise procurement and trade financing; building an international fashion hub (attracting overseas design talent, expanding flagship events such as CENTRESTAGE and Hong Kong Fashion Fest, and planning Sham Shui Po as a regional fashion hub); and deepening “AI+” applications by establishing an industry AI acceleration program, simplifying funding approval processes, strengthening AI training for SMEs, and optimizing the Support and Enhancement Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises to build an AI tool library, thereby promoting digital and intelligent transformation and revitalizing the local SME ecosystem.
