On 17 July, Hong Kong’s textile and garment industry held a “Reception and Seminar in Celebration of the 29th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,” with the theme “Hong Kong Textile and Garment Industry Advocacy Proposals,” delving into the development direction and strategic positioning of Hong Kong’s textile and garment industry in the new era. The Chairman and a number of Executive Committee members attended in support.
Hong Kong’s textile and garment industry has a long history. In the face of new international dynamics, supply chain restructuring, and technological transformation, industry stakeholders came together to explore how Hong Kong’s textile and garment industry can seize new opportunities, address new challenges, and redefine the industry’s role in the new era.
Earlier, the industry, in collaboration with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s Fung Supply Chain Institute, released the first-phase research findings. The seminar’s keynote speech further elaborated on the development blueprint and policy recommendations mapped out by industry entrepreneurs for Hong Kong’s garment industry, injecting new momentum into promoting industrial upgrading and consolidating Hong Kong’s status as an international trading and supply chain hub.
We look forward to the industry’s continued efforts to break new ground in innovation and technology, sustainable development, international cooperation, and talent cultivation for Hong Kong’s textile and garment industry, creating new advantages for Hong Kong.
