The Federation of Hong Kong Garment Manufacturers welcome the Bill of Safeguarding National Security Bill passed through three readings in the Legislative Council yesterday (19 March 2024). The completion of the legislation will help create a stable business environment and provide a “boost” for Hong Kong’s long-term development.
The Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passed the “Safeguard National Security Bill” by a unanimous vote. Hong Kong will smoothly implement the legislation of Article 23 of the Basic Law, build a strong national security defense line, and fulfill its constitutional responsibilities under the Basic Law. This is a top priority for the well-being of all Hong Kong people since Hong Kong returned to the motherland. At the same time, for the business community, a sound legal environment can consolidate investors’ confidence in doing business in Hong Kong and make companies and talents more willing to develop in Hong Kong. It is expected that Hong Kong can go all out to develop its economy and write a new era for Hong Kong.
